Special note from author, Sande Roberts:
Being able to participate in the Hypothalamic Hamartomas fundraiser is incredibly important to me personally - with my brother Glen being diagnosed with HH in 2002. At 62, Glen is currently among the oldest survivors of the challenges associated with HH and other developmental diagnoses. I wrote Blake’s Big Day to honor Glen, and to bring awareness to HH and to other challenges people who are differently abled have every day. We are grateful for hopeforhh.org and we have hope that we will be able to help generate interest and financial support through our fundraiser package. Glen’s life has been made easier by the various cats he has adopted over the years, going back to 2000 when I took Glen to get his first rescue cat, BooBoo. It’s hard to live alone - without someone to talk to. Glen isn’t able to take care of the needs of a dog, and has found cats to be wonderful companions who are also very sensitive to needs and challenges of their humans. |
